POLISH HUMANITARIAN ACTION IS LOOKING FOR SBC/C4D PROJECT COORDINATOR

About PAH:
Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to make the world a better place. For over 20 years, we have been providing relief in big and small emergencies worldwide alongside running long-term missions in several countries in crisis.
Our interventions – of both humanitarian and development character– have been carried out in 44 countries so far. Our focus is on ensuring sustainable and stable development of regions suffering the consequences of war and/or natural disasters. PAH Mission in Somalia:
PAH has been present in Somalia since 2011. With WASH, FSL, and Nutrition programs PAH supported people from the most vulnerable communities in different regions in Somalia. Our primary focus is to provide safe drinking water through the rehabilitation of water infrastructure, the construction of water distribution systems, and the construction of rainwater reservoirs. In our work, we also focus on other WASH components such as the improvement of sanitary conditions, and hygiene promotion to make our WASH interventions fully comprehensive. In FSL, we implement an unconditional Cash transfer
Our current donors are ECHO, GFFO, SHF, and UNICEF. PAH, programs target the most vulnerable IDPs, hosts, and rural communities as well as institutions in Banadir, Lower Shebelle, Middle Shebelle, and Galmudug Region.
PAH, will be implementing 12 months UNICEF SBC projects in Banadir and Galgaduud region and is looking for a
for project coordinators who will become part of our operation team. The person will hold the following responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction to define evidence-informed SBC approaches and activities to influence shifts in community norms, attitudes, and behaviours in support of learning by households, institutions, and communities.
- Assist the project manager in supporting relevant, high-quality advocacy and outreach activities to influence attitudes and promote behavioural change among target beneficiaries.
- Assist the project manager in developing, implementing, and, managing the project’s plan for social and behaviour change.
- Ensure full implementation of the project work plan in line with the project manager’s plan.
- Build and enhance strong partnerships with community groups, leaders, and other partners to promote participation in social and behavioural change that supports the project goals.
- Support the design, organization, and implementation of capacity-building initiatives, training materials, workshops, and activities to build the capacity and competencies among project staff, community members, partners, and government representatives.
- Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of all SBC project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan with program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices under the guidance of the project manager.
- Train, guide, and oversee Project assistant, social mobilizers, and social mobilizers supervisors’ activities in coordination with the project manager.
- Produce and disseminate high-quality communication materials including human-interest stories, case studies, best practices, photos, and videos to showcase the impact of the project in coordination with the line manager.
- Support relevant, high-impact advocacy and outreach activities to influence attitudes and promote behavioural change among target beneficiaries.
- Share regular weekly or monthly reports with the line manager and ensure the quality of the project implemented.
- Ensure all segments of the affected population including women have equal access to ongoing services and that targeted support to advance gender equality is based on gender analysis.
- Conducting community engagement sessions at schools through the establishment of school hygiene clubs and ensuring good working relationships with school stakeholders, and government education ministries in coordination with the line manager
- Prepare all project-related documentation including reports, work plans, success stories, and assessments, and share them with the project manager on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Perform any other duty assigned by the project manager.
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field in social and behavioral science, sociology, community development, communications, and international relationship. Master’s degree will be an added advantage/in social and behavioural science.
- At least 2 years of experience in similar fields in international, local organizations or UN agencies
- Strong organizational skills and ability to lead a stream of work.
- Ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with a multicultural team.
- Experiences in SBC-social behavioural change approaches and content
- Fluent in English and Somali language
- Ability to work under time constraints in stressful environments
- Very good in MS Office
