Overview of position | Our client in Somalia operations is engaged in providing contract management & construction supervision support to various infrastructure projects implemented by the Government partners. The projects include roads rehabilitation, construction of health facilities, urban drains rehabilitation & various community infrastructure works. They are responsible for ensuring that these works are implemented in accordance with the technical design, specifications & engineering standards as specified in the contract documents & also in compliance with environmental & social safeguards standards. Their project team includes Engineers, Surveyors, Laboratory Technicians, Environmental & Social Safeguard Specialists, Construction Supervisors & the support staff. Our client in Somalia has their technical team working alongside with the Government partners also contributes to the strengthening of the Government partner’s capacity by sharing knowledge & engaging in ‘on-the-job’ training opportunities. In order to strengthen the environmental & social safeguard capacity of our client to support upcoming new construction activities, they are recruiting additional Safeguard Specialist(s) for the project team. |
Role objectives | The Safeguard Specialist reporting to the Supervising Engineer will work with the PIU in the preparation & update of the contract specific environmental & social framework instruments & assist in the monitoring / reporting on implementation of these instruments.
